The Coyote is built on an 8x8 carrier known as the MOWAG Piranha.

Initially deployed in 1996, the Coyote armored reconnaissance vehicle was designed primarily as a scout. This non-amphibious vehicle is armed with two NATO C6 machine guns and a 25x137mm M232 Bushmaster chain cannon, providing it with formidable firepower for reconnaissance missions.

The Coyote can also be enhanced with a specialized package designed to defend against heavy artillery, significantly increasing its survivability on the battlefield. In addition to its offensive capabilities, the vehicle is already equipped with protective measures against chemical, biological, and radiological (CBR) attacks, ensuring the safety of its crew in diverse combat scenarios.

To further enhance its defensive capabilities, the Coyote includes an NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) breathing system, which is designed to expel harmful chemicals in the event of an assault, allowing the crew to operate effectively even in contaminated environments.
